FDA allowed the emergency use of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine in 12-15 aged children

The Food and Drug Administration has now granted the emergency use of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine in 12-15-year-old children. Yet Pfizer is the only vaccine available for teenagers of 16 to 18 years old to be used against COVID-19.

This grant of emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine was expected. Because in an examination, the Pfizer vaccine was given to 1005 participants of children of the younger age group. And the results were 100% effective to immunize against the COVID-19.

On Monday night conference the Janet Woodcock claimed that the vaccine will be circulated to the adolescents as given to adults. The procedure and quantity of the vaccine are the same for the adolescents to the procedure and the dose are given to adults. So, the pharmacies and vaccine centres can use this vaccine in the younger age group.

Janet Woodcock said that today’s step of using this vaccine in the younger people aged 12-15 years. It would make us move closer to customary conditions and end this pandemic condition.

The permission of the emergency use of Pfizer’s vaccine to the 12-15-year-old children. It will benefit the students and families when it comes to studies and schools. The vaccination of children makes the students return to regular schooling.

The director of the FDA’s center for biologics evaluation and Research, Peter Marks, claimed the emergency use of vaccines in children a critical step to control the pandemic conditions.

Mark also said that there are different benefit risks as we know that children are also susceptible to this covid-19 infection. And we should make sure that we will not see this condition in the youngest children.

Pfizer is also hoping for the full approval of its COVID vaccine. So the COVID vaccine of Pfizer will not be longer used as an emergency vaccine.
